Today at 1600hrs, local PCSOs conducted a Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) engagement event in the Bow East Ward, focusing on the Capital Ring Walk and local Barge East.

Officers engaged with residents, walkers, runners, and commuters, providing reassurance and offering crime prevention advice relating to personal safety, harassment, stalking, violence against women and girls, and reporting concerns to the police.

The event aimed to increase public confidence in policing, gather community feedback regarding local safety concerns, and identify locations where women and girls may feel vulnerable. High-visibility patrols were conducted along the Capital Ring route and surrounding areas, with officers speaking to members of the public about safety, reporting suspicious behaviour, and accessing support services.

Officers also promoted Met Engage, encouraging residents to sign up for local policing updates, crime prevention advice, and information about future community engagement events. The event provided a valuable opportunity for the community to raise concerns and help shape local policing priorities within the Bow East area.
